PAX Arena
at PAX East 2020

PAX is a set of annual pop culture events in cities like Seattle (PAX West) and Boston (PAX East). PAX Arena is PAX's initiative to bring open, highly-produced, exciting esports competitions to all of their attendees. As PAX Arena's lead phrases it, "We're bringing esports to everyone!"

PAX Arena at PAX East 2020 featured a $10,000 "Almost Pro" Apex Legends tournament with four open qualifiers of forty convention attendees each, ending with a finale of the top ten players from each qualifier.

As a tournament admin, my responsibilities included:
- Two days of setup (flooring, networking, power, tables, PCs/monitors/peripherals, broadcast captures)
- On-site registration for hundreds of players
- Administering the tournament area during all competition
- Resolving all technical issues
- Sanitizing all setups between matches*
- Tearing down back to bare carpet.
